Score one for Veoh

According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a recent court battle between online video site Veoh and IO group was thrown out by a judge.

In 2006, IO Group filed lawsuit against Veoh due to users uploading copyrighted videos produced by IO Group on the popular video sharing website.

The key to Veoh’s triumph in this battle was due to its stringent adhearance to DMCA guidelines. By listing a copyright agent to contact to take down offending videos and banning repeat uploaders of copyrighted content, the judge saw fit to find in favor of Veoh for keeping the site as clear of copyrighted content as it could.
