BSA Softens Piracy Ads

The Business Software Alliance, an organization composed of nearly 80 companies has decided to change its anti-piracy tactics to something a bit more comical hoping that the added humor will bring people to their cause.

When I first heard of these new ads, this is what came to mind:

This is from an episode of the British sitcom The IT Crowd, it does the job, though I do think it’s a bit silly.

This is the actual new ad from the BSA:

Will it work? I doubt it. Remember Snakes on a Plane a few years ago? Exactly, people blogged up a storm, people thought it was going to be huge, but no, when it came out it was a big flop. I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane!
