The Mountains in the Desert

On my recent trip to Arizona, I saw mountains. Lots of mountains. Did I say I saw mountains? Please enjoy this slide show of mountains, also a squirrel with something in its mouth.

These are the Superstition Mountains. According to Wikipedia, “The Superstition Mountains, popularly referred to as ‘The sopies’ or ‘The Supes’, are a range of mountains in Arizona located to the east of the Phoenix metropolitan area. They are anchored by Superstition Mountain, a large mountain that is a popular recreation destination for residents of the Phoenix, Arizona area.”

I also was able to pan for gold in a small touristy area with other shops and things regarding gold mining. I managed to collect 3 or 4 very small pieces of gold and a bit of garnet.
